Participants will spend 4 days and 3 nights in Cedar Breaks National Monument. While in the monument, participants will snowshoe; build snow structures; learn about climate, biology, nature's impact on humans, and geology; and serve as volunteers for the monument. This is a high altitude project, participants should be prepared for cold temperatures and be able to hike at least 5 miles.
Participants should arrive in Cedar City, Utah no later than 9 pm on Thursday, January 11th and should plan on departing Cedar City after 2 pm on Monday, January 15th. Transportation can be arranged by flight through Cedar City, Las Vegas, or St. George, UT.
*Protip from your facilitator: "I ask that students arrive one day early so their bodies can adjust to the elevation and temperature. Altitude sickness is a real concern and an early arrival will help students stay healthy." -Jayci Bash
