The Leader in Honors Scholarship
The Publications Board supports the overall mission of the National Collegiate Honors Council by managing several publications that explore the principles and impacts of honors education. Honors professionals and students are invited to submit original research articles, monograph proposals, comprehensive literature reviews, or pedagogical case studies that enhance the growing body of scholarship on honors education. For more than four decades, NCHC has produced peer-reviewed monographs, academic journals, and reports focused on honors education as well as the broader scholarship of teaching and learning, student engagement, and faculty development. Featuring writing by leading researchers and thinkers in honors education, NCHC publications offer a wealth of resources to build and grow your honors program. Why Publish in Honors?
Publishing in refereed outlets is an important performance metric for faculty and other professionals working in higher education. Authors whose work appears in NCHC publications can shape the growing field of honors education literature and speak to a broad readership. Students publishing in UReCA can share their undergraduate work and start building a publication record (see more below). Opportunities for Professionals The NCHC Publications Board oversees two peer-reviewed journals: Journal of the National Collegiate Honors Council (JNCHC) and Honors in Practice (HIP), These journals feature primary research studies in honors education, reviews of literature, and case studies on best practices in honors education. The NCHC Monograph Series provides an opportunity to publish an extended single-author or edited volume on an important topic or theme in contemporary honors education.
