Regional Honors
In addition to the NCHC, regional honors councils exist to provide collaboration and student opportunities on a more local level. While not managed by the national council, NCHC is proud to work closely with the regional councils by providing support for events and honors advocacy. The Western Regional Honors Council (WRHC) is a professional organization of faculty, administrators and students dedicated to the promotion and advancement of undergraduate honors education. The WRHC represents honors programs and honors colleges at institutions of higher learning across the 13-state Western Region through an annual conference, newsletters and email communication, and through biannual business meetings at our regional conference and at the national NCHC conference. Learn More Publish with ScribendiThe Upper Midwest Honors Council (UMHC) encompasses institutions of higher education at all levels in northwestern Illinois, Iowa, northern Michigan, northern Nebraska, North Dakota, Minnesota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin and seeks to support a regional identity for honors education among member institutions. Learn MoreCoordinating its activities with the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC), the Great Plains organization promotes the flow of information, ideas, fellowship and professional encouragement throughout its member programs. Our spring regional conference always emphasizes student presentations and the region-as-text. Learn More Publish with The WindmillThe Mid-East Honors Association (MEHA) represents honors programs in universities and colleges across the mid-east region through an annual conference, lunch and learns and email communication. Two open meetings, one in the spring at the annual conference and one at the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) conference, are held annually. Learn MoreThe Northeast Regional Honors Council (NRHC) is an organization of students, faculty, and administrators dedicated to the encouragement and support of undergraduate honors learning. The NRHC provides its members with opportunities for the exchange of information, ideas, and assistance through its annual conference, its newsletter, and its scholarships. The NRHC encompasses Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Quebec, Ontario, and the Maritime Provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island. Learn More Publish with IlluminateThe Southern Regional Honors Council promotes and advances Honors Programs and Honors Colleges in the Southern United States. The Southern Regional Honors Council is comprised of 11 states, and is proud to support their Honors councils, associations, and organizations.
