The partnership between NCHC and UNL highlights a shared commitment to academic excellence and the transformative power of honors education. Since 2005, UNL has served as the headquarters of NCHC, providing a vibrant and collaborative environment that supports the advancement of honors education on a national and global scale. Dr. Patrice Berger, UNL's founding Honors Director, a long-time member of NCHC and former chair of the Portz Fellowship Committee, played an integral role in bringing NCHC to UNL. Today, NCHC resides in the heart of UNL's honors community at the Knoll Residence Center. As NCHC's host institution, UNL exemplifies leadership and innovation among the honors higher education landscape. Its support for NCHC extends beyond hosting the national office. NCHC benefits from an affiliate relationship with UNL, allowing NCHC access to University departments like ITS, purchasing, print services on top of office space. In addition, UNL provides a premier platform for scholarly contributions through the UNL Digital Commons. This digital library features flagship NCHC publications, including the Journal of the National Collegiate Honors Council (JNCHC), 23,928 downloads in the past year; Honors in Practice (HIP), 8,607 downloads in the past year; and the Monograph series, 3,825 downloads in the past year. These publications serve as indispensable resources for honors program leaders and educators, addressing topics such as curriculum design, strategic planning, and emerging trends in honors education.
