Institutional Honors Program Reviews & Consultations
Need help advocating for more support for your honors unit? Institutional honors program reviews and consultations conducted by NCHC-recommended reviewers are one of the most powerful advocacy tools we offer. Honors reviews support the strengths of your program or college and provide documentation for much-needed resources. Benefits of Program Reviews & ConsultationsProfessional Peer Review & Feedback
Instead of external auditors who are unfamiliar with the often complex and multi-faceted nature of honors education, our NCHC-certified reviewers are peers active in the honors community and are intimately familiar with the needs and considerations of honors units. This ensures that our reviews and consultations address the unique nature of honors education and provide relevant feedback for your institution. Actionable Insights for Student Learning Outcomes
We believe that student success and learning outcomes are of the utmost priority in honors education. Our reviews and consultations center on maximizing your unit's capacity for quality student outcomes and growth. Customized Mission-Centric Evaluations
Like its students, each honors program and college is unique. Using your institution's mission as a guideline, our reviewers and consultants identify which of NCHC's Shared Practices and Principles of Honors Education best apply, then provide assessments, evaluations, and feedback based on this customized approach. Foundation for Continuous Improvement
Receiving regular external assessments and reviews from NCHC-certified program reviewers and consultants helps monitor the state of your honors unit, develop information needed to address weaknesses, and lay the foundation for continuous development and maturation. Transparency for Key Stakeholders
Reports provided by our reviewers and consultants are a great way to show transparency with key stakeholders such as students, parents, alumni, administrators, and donors to show both the strengths of your program and ways in which these stakeholders can help support and grow your program or college. Review Types and FeesFull Program Review
A full program review provides the most comprehensive assessment and report of your program's strengths, goals, and areas that could benefit from additional support.
Virtual Review
Virtual reviews are an economical option for smaller institutions who may not have the budget to conduct a full program review but need a comprehensive review of their unit outside of infrastructure components.
Institutional Consultation/Workshop
Institutional consultations or workshops are a great way to address specific needs or challenges your unit faces.
Consultant Hour(s)
Need to troubleshoot a specific concern or challenge on a 1:1 basis? Consultant hours are a budget-friendly option to get relevant recommendations from an NCHC-certified program reviewer.
“I know how positively transformative an NCHC program review can be because I have been the recipient of one myself. The program review affirmed many things I thought needed continuity or change about our program; it also challenged me to consider solutions or changes that I had not anticipated. Years later, upon reflection, I can easily see the positive impact the reviewers had on our development." James Williams
Dean of the Strain Honors College, University of Indianapolis
