Institute Focus:

The NCHC New Directors Institute provides new honors directors and deans with best practices in curricular management and research, based on shared experiences from NCHC colleagues. Participants will take part in nuts-and-bolts sessions including:

• Developing your honors program
• Creating budgets and curricula
• Addressing staffing /administration issues in honors
• Identifying key resources and allies on campus

This immersive honors experience will prepare you to be successful in your new position as an honors administrator. Sessions include individual consultation as time permits.

Venue:
The institute sessions and formal discussions will take place at Nonprofit Hub. This contemporary space in the heart of downtown Lincoln is the home to dozen of non-profit organizations, and is a short walk away from the official institute hotel. The Hub offers a large conference room and smaller breakout rooms for our institute to take place--and even provides complimentary coffee and tea through our meeting time.

If you are not planning to rent a car, we recommend flying into the Lincoln Municipal Airport (LNK) rather than Omaha Eppley Airfield (OMA.) Sometimes you can find less expensive flights into Omaha, but Lincoln is located approximately an hour from that airport, and finding adequate ground transportation between the cities can be a hassle. The Lincoln airport is less than 10 minutes from the hotel, so ultimately, flying into LNK could save you a lot of stress.
