Kellie Rose Kordinak
Abstract

The senior honors thesis project, titled Human Trafficking: 20th Century Historical Roots & the Importance of Credible Research, explores the history of human trafficking using primary and secondary sources in a website format. The focus is limited to the twentieth century (1900s) primarily within the United States, with discussions of international legislation.

This website is made up of multiple components that aid in providing an interactive experience for website visitors to learn more about the history behind human trafficking including: a glossary, historical timeline, special topics review, and podcast series titled Combating Shadows: Uncovering Human Trafficking available on Spotify. Without definitive knowledge of its history, professionals and the public alike will face obstacles of foundational knowledge and competency when studying and combating human trafficking in the present.
