It is hard to pick only one NCHC memory! I attended NCHC conferences when I was an honors student, and I really
enjoyed giving a presentation at NCHC 2004 in New Orleans, Louisiana. And the city was so vibrant (this was before
Hurricane Katrina). As an honors professional, one of my favorite moments was when one of my students was named
NCHC Student of the Year in 2016 and our newsletter placed in the NCHC Newsletter Contest in 2017. Seeing my
students' work recognized and preparing/bringing them to conference every year are some of my favorite parts of the
job.
What do you consider to be your greatest professional achievement?
Honestly, I don't know if I've had my greatest professional achievement yet. I hope to remain in honors for many years to come.
If I had to pick something up to this point in my career, I would say that making Honors accessible to all students (all majors and
modalities) at my home institution has been a significant milestone. Additionally, my work in regional honors with the Northeast
Regional Honors Council (NRHC) has allowed me to elevate honors programming to an entire region, by serving on the
Executive Board since 2017 and planning our annual conferences as well as establishing our regional undergraduate journal
(Illuminate) in 2019.
