What is your favorite NCHC memory?
I have always enjoyed the NCHC conferences, each time hosted in a different city. They provided me with wonderful
opportunities to make new friends and develop programs in collaboration with colleagues. City as Text has been a
particularly memorable experience, as it offers a unique way to discover both the character of a place and its people. I
also value the Virtual Knowledge Café, which has become a fantastic platform to exchange ideas and perspectives with
people from all over the world, even without the need or expense of travel.
What do you consider to be your greatest professional achievement?
I have been serving as Honours Director for the past 15 years, and I truly love what I do. Among the initiatives I am most proud
of are the Global Leadership courses we have developed in collaboration with NCHC partners and other international
institutions, covering a wide range of relevant topics. In recognition of my work in promoting global social engagement in
education and within Honors Programs, I was awarded a Dutch Royal distinction: Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau. I
strongly believe that even short-term international experiences can have a lasting impact, shaping students' lives and helping
them to become more interculturally aware and globally engaged.
