Just Honors

Note from the Conference Chair

The conference theme, “Just Honors,” will explore justice both as an academic focus and also the role honors can serve in addressing issues of access, equity, and technology in education. It is a challenge that many honors programs and colleges, even at diverse institutions, are not very diverse. But honors is also the place where high-ability, highly engaged students can get the customized education that best serves them, regardless of socio-economic status or parental education levels. How do we teach "justice" in honors? How is it part of the conversation, and what are we doing in terms of studying the history of justice? How are we using our knowledge for community-engaged service and research? How do we partner with our communities?
